On the Golden Mile, a street full of history and charm, in the town of Herculaneum, in an outbuilding of Villa Campolieto, one of the most important for structure and architecture of the 122 Vesuvian Villas, comes the Osteria ” Viva Lo Re”
“Viva Lo Re”, an ancient toast of the Bourbon army, opened in 1995. At first it was a small room with 25 seats where the gastronomic proposal was limited to a selection of cheeses, meats, salads and rustic pizzas and a wine list comprising one hundred Italian labels.
Over the years, the structure is transformed to become today a modern restaurant where you can taste traditional bell revisited according to our sensitivity.
The list currently has more than 1,550 wine labels between Italian and foreign companies.
In 2002, in a room of Palazzo Durante (Vesuvian Villa), in front of the Osteria, opens “Viva lo Re wines and oils, a wine made entirely of chestnut and paved with terracotta tiles from Vietri. This room is equipped with a natural cellar for storage and evolution of the most prestigious wines.
Since 2007 in _ “Viva Lo Re” is also possible to stay overnight. In the same dependance Villa Campolieto where is the Osteria on the upper floors there are 3 rooms in the formula of the “Bed & Breakfast”. The rooms are modernly furnished and equipped with every comfort.
