City of Pompeii

The territory of Pompeii, bordering the neighboring town of Boscoreale, Scafati, Torre Annunziata, Castellammare di Stabia and S. Maria la Carità, covers an area of about 1192 hectares.

Located at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, on the south side at 14 m. height above sea level, Pompeii is a religious and tourist center of worldwide interest for the simultaneous presence of a vast archaeological heritage unique in the world and the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary: the one reached by millions of visitors annually kidnapped unearthed by the charm of the city, the other, a destination for pilgrimages foltissimi.
